The Big Bang
A Simplified "Explanation"

Most people throw around the concept of the ‘big bang’ with no real idea of the implications of the actual theory.

In this issue, join us as we take a look at some of the questionable aspects of the Big Bang Theory.

To begin, we must be careful to state that the big bang theory is not an explanation of how the matter in the universe was created, but rather, how that matter took on its current shape and form.

The Big Bang theory states that all of the matter in the universe exploded from a central point, but provides no explanation however as to how the matter came into existence to begin with. The truth is that big bang scientists have no explanation. Wouldn't it be more logical to believe that there is a Designer that created the complex structures we see in the universe around us every day - A universe created in intricate detail by the God of the Bible? That’s a concept many scientists avoid at all costs.

The average person is not aware that the big bang theory does not describe the expansion of matter through space. It instead relates to the actual expansion of the vacuum we know as space itself. In other words, at the time of the Big Bang, the location we occupy today was nothing, not even space.

According to the big bang model, the Sun was formed long before the Earth. The Biblical account clearly indicates that the Earth was formed before the Sun. This makes a strong statement that the big bang theory and the Biblical record cannot be reconciled without compromising one or the other.

Another point to consider is that based on scientific theory, it would be impossible for all of the elements on our periodic table to form from the basic elements that were supposedly produced in the Big Bang – Predominantly Hydrogen and Helium.
Even atomic bombs upon detonation, still cannot bridge the Mass 5 and Mass 8 gaps that are present in our elemental charts. Theoretically, this would leave the Earth void of the elements that make it possible for you to read this paragraph.

Even NASA has its doubts, when it comes to the big bang. They state that:

Although the Big Bang Theory is widely accepted, it probably will never be proved; ….consequentially, leaving a number of tough, unanswered questions.”

The Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics have some simple, unanswered questions themselves:

“What powered the Big Bang?
Where did all the stuff in the universe come from in the first place?
No one knows how the first space, time, and matter arose. And scientists are grappling with even deeper questions.
If there was nothing to begin with, then where did the laws of nature come from? How did the universe "know" how to proceed?
And why do the laws of nature produce a universe that is so hospitable to life?

As difficult as these questions are, scientists are attempting to address them with bold new ideas”

To those scientists, I would like to propose a simple theory that answers all of the questions:

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

Recently, a new theory is emerging which attempts to reconcile the big bang theory with what the Bible teaches. In future editions of our newsletters, we will take a closer look at some of these issues. In the meantime, care should be taken to steer clear of blind faith in a theory that many scientists advance: The theory of a spontaneous big bang that created space itself - a flawed and dying theory that even the most prestigious scientific organizations are now beginning to question.

In closing, I would like to encourage everyone to take the Creation account literally. If scientists would do so, then I believe that they would find that pieces of their puzzle will start to fall into place.

No, the big bang is not the answer, but the Bible has the answer every time.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” ....Psalm 118:8
