DropBox An online back up site called DROPBOX.

2 gigs free online storage and 250 MB more for
each person you refer who signs up, up to a total of 8 gigs free
storage. 2 gigs is a lot of storage. Remember back in the mid 90's when a 300 meg
harddrive was considered
a lot of storage? I was surprised how much important stuff I could get into 2 gigs, for free.
They also have 50 gig and 100 gig options at cost. Lesser options are available
if you write in and ask for them.
I bought a 25 gig option ($7.99/mo) which with my 6 gigs of added space via
referrals, gives me 31 gigs total;
enough to safely back up ALL my pictures, websites, and my huge
email file. I've lost all my emails in the past.
This is a great way to retrieve them when the blue screen of death says I need
to reinstall windows which wipes
out your email files and starts you anew.
So do yourself a favor and drop some files or directories online. You can even share those with others.
How to use it to back up your files
Uncomplicated. Download the program, open it,
drag the folders/and or files you want to store online into it.
When you change contents of a folder or file be
sure and open dropbox and replace the file or folder with the
new one.
If you lose a file or folder, open dropbox from www.dropbox.com,
login and and retrieve it from
Dropbox back to your computer.
WARNING: When you delete files from dropbox,
it also deletes them from your computer. You can undelete them
but then you
have to save them back to your computer which is a time
consuming process. You should also have
a backup on a second harddrive of your most important files.
Share your files with others by using the Public folder.
See an example of how this works by going to www.detailshere.com/amegaglobaldocuments.htm
Select one of the blue links, like AmGizer since it opens quickly, and
you will see the file I have stored on
dropbox for all to see.
Second example: Go to www.detailshere.com/heavencantwait.htm
Select any one of the blue links, the first is a pdf cover sheet, but the
rest are audio links that contain too many
megs to send as an email, but by using dropbox you have access to the whole
series that tells you how you too
can get a visitation to heaven. Jesus wants us to see what heaven is
like. This lady has perfected the process.
Follow her instructions and you too can know that heaven is real.
The Public Folder lets you easily share single
files in your Dropbox. Any file
you put in this folder gets its
own Internet link so that you can share it with others-- even non-Dropbox
users! They
don't have to login to
DropBox to see these, just have the correct URL to go to.
These links work even if your computer is turned off.
Step 1: Drop a file into
the Public folder.
Step 2: Right-click/control-click
this file, then choose Dropbox > Copy Public Link. This copies the
Internet
link to your file so that you can paste it somewhere else.
That's it!
You can now share this file with others: just paste the link into
e-mails, instant message conversations, blogs, etc.
Note:
You
can only link to actual files within your Public Folder, not to folders.
Store your photos
so family and friends can see them to. Beats emailing them photos one at a
time.
Dropbox photo galleries allow you to
share photos with anyone (even non-Dropbox users). These photos
will be presented in a photo gallery that is viewable online.
Just give your family and friends the URL to the specific gallery you
created and they can go right to it.
Step 1:
Make a folder inside the Photos folder, and give it a name (this will be the
name of your photo gallery)
Step 2:
Put photos inside the folder you just created.
That's it! Now you can view and
share this photo gallery online by going to http://www.dropbox.com/photos
