e-bullion.com

www.e-bullion.com  The e-Bullion Company brings to the table a number of excellent features including numbered debit cards,  redundant servers in different countries, and  competitive fees. I feel it is the safest e-currency system to use of all that are available on the net.

Announcement which means they have removed themselves even further

Subject: NETWORK RELOC - NEWS - 08.2004
NETWORK UPDATE - ADMIN NEWS. Please be advised, Administration and Technical Div. have been working on a project (for some time now) to update and re-locate portions of the e-Bullion network. The project involves update
of the redundant servers as well as re-locating the Primary Server Network to a new location. Tech Div. will make an announcement when outages are required and Tech will keep all outages to a minimum to ensure account access & availability. Over the next few weeks e-Bullion PRIMARY-Servers will be moved to a new location in Switzerland (CH) and redundant servers are scheduled to be updated as well. The end-result (once all phases are complete) will be that the e-Bullion network will no longer maintain any Primary or Backup servers or
databases in North America. E-Bullion Corporate governance will remain as a
Panamanian-structure with primary databases located in Switzerland, and redundancy provided via multiple Server-Networks located elsewhere
throughout the Globe. As the work progresses Admin and Tech will keep users up to date on progress and or any scheduled outages which may be required.
Thank you for your time and consideration and for choosing e-Bullion.com

Although e-bullion now has no fees to get money INTO their system, they now charge a 2% ecurrency withdrawal fee or a 3% gold withdrawal fee to either put the money onto your debit card or withdraw your funds in other manners.

You CAN convert gold to ecurrency at a 3% loss or ecurrency to gold at a 2% loss by calling them at 1-805-482-1460 and they will give you the GoldfingerCoin account number to spend to for such a conversion. They do NOT do conversions every day, which is why they want you to call them first.   Put in the memo box of your spend, "Please put $300 ecurr into acct A205xxTom Jones".

NOTE!!!    You can obtain  withdrawals from the e-bullion system via a check for  or via a bank wire for only $25 inside US and $45 international(plus the 2% or 3% withdrawal fee).  There are no  transfer fees to go from one e-bullion to another e-bullion account; but a $5 flat fee, not a percentage,  plus the 2% or 3% withdrawal fee to transfer your e-bullion money onto your e-bullion debit card. The downside of the debit cardis that you have to have a US address to get an e-bullion debit card  although it works in any country.

I use   www.goldage.net for all my transfers from ebullion to other ecurrencies and vice versa

E-Bullion is considered better than E-Gold  in my opinion because they undergo quarterly auditing to verify they have enough gold in storage to backup the accounts. They are far less susceptible to hacking than e-gold is.  E-Gold is an excellent place to lose your money to hackers; it is a hackers paradise because nothing ever happens to them there. E-Gold will NEVER help you get your money back. And many programs are choosing e-bullion OVER e-gold because of better service as well as MUCH less chance of hacking (theft of your funds in your account by people able to access your account illegally) ; especially if you use the crytpocard technology at e-bullion..

Bulletproofing your account at E-Bullion
E-Bullion has this device called a cryptocard you can buy from them for $99. It can be used for up to two different accounts. It is a little hand held calculator thingy with a numbered keypad. When you log in to your account via your computer you just enter your account number and click enter; you do not enter a password. On your computer screen then appears a number you enter into your cryptocard keypad. Push a button and the device gives you back another number. This you enter in on your computer as your passphrase to enter your account at that time. The cryptocard device generates a new and unique passphrase each time you enter your account. Unless you have the device in your possession at the time you enter your account, you won't get in,EVER!
I have NEVER EVER been hacked at e-bullion (with or without the cryptocard device) and I now have ALL the accounts I work with cryptocarded.

Multiple Batch Transfers

This is especially useful for those people operating payout programs needing to spend small sums of money to many people.  You create a file first in microsoft excel that contains all the info you need to make the spend to all the people you need to make a spend to, including what you want stated in the memo box of each spend. You next convert this file to .csv format.  There are simple instructions on the e-bullion site as to how to do this.  When you want to do the spend to all those people  you login to your e-bullion site, select "multiple batch transfer" , browse to the .csv file on your computer you used to program all the spend info into and with one click of the mouse you can automatically spend to all those people without having to do individual spends which is very time consuming. It still costs you 25 cents a person to make the spend, but it can all be accomplished with one quick keystroke.

Debit Card
The E-Bullion debit card is a good deal at $35 and only a flat $5 and not a percentage to fund the card from your e-bullion account direct (except for the added 2% ecurrency or 3% gold withdrawal fee); BUT it has the limitation of $1000/day withdrawal and $3000/5 day period so you can only take $18k per month from the card.  But you can also set your wife up with an account and a debit card and make that $36k/mo.  And you can take out multiple debit cards. The downside is they do not have an international card available and you have to have a US address to get one; even though the card works internationally very well. Can't live on that??  See  www.detailshere.com/cashcards.htm  for a card you can withdraw $60k/mo from but with increased loss of funds in the process.

The Company

The Panama Corporation is headed by CEO Jim Fayed, a name long known in gold bullion circles. The company is administered by Goldfinger Bullion Reserve Corporation (GBRC) which is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, USA, and has been in the gold bullion business for quite some time. Goldfinger holds bullion in treasury-grade vaults in Los Angeles, Delaware, Zurich and Australia.

When asked who the shareholders and directors of the company were, the company spokesman said that e-Bullion is privately held and intends to keep that information confidential. But he did make the point that the directors of the Goldfinger Bullion Reserve Corporation, which administers the e-Bullion's operations, have over 45 years combined experience in the gold bullion business.

The Backing

The e-Bullion Company is unique among digital gold currency providers because it allows customers to bail in gold coins, such as American Eagles and South African Krugerrands. The competitors in this field thus far accept only 400 ounce gold bars.

While e-Bullion does accept coinage, the majority of their holding so far is in Hallmark 400 ounce bars; whereas GoldMoney and e-gold use London Good Delivery bars. Hallmark and the London Bullion Market Association are organizations that certify the fineness and weight of a gold bar to be exactly what it says on the stamp. In order to bail a foreign gold bar into one of these organizations it must be melted down and recast by one of their refiners so they can certify its purity and weight. Hallmark is a US refiner and semi-fabricator, whose cash gold price has long been widely used as the "wholesale" price in the jewellery trade in North America. The group has refineries in Attleboro, Mass., Phoenix, Arizona, South Windsor, Conn., and Villa Park, Illinois, and is part of The Golden West Refining Corporation. Hallmark bars are accepted by the London Bullion Market Association.

The e-Bullion Company also offers accounts backed with silver bullion.

The Transaction System

The e-Bullion Company takes great pride in their secure transaction system which has backup servers in three countries, including the United States, Panama, and an undisclosed location in Europe. The home page boasts,"Our server is located in a disaster-proof facility and colocated with dedicated bandwidth and rack space for expansion plus 24-hour around the clock Tech Support monitoring and built-in systems redundancy." This statement probably refers to the former US military base headquarters in Panama that has been converted into an underground datacenter where some of the company's servers are co-located.

Transactions on the system are made via the Internet using 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to encrypt the transaction details from the user's computer to the transaction server. Transactions are made with an account number and password similar to competitors e-gold and EvoCash.

Pricing

They don't charge anything to make transfers from one account to the other within the system and claim they don't assess storage fees but they do charge a $4.20/fee called a maintenance fee on each account. You can avoid this fee by having zero dollars in your account at the end of the month.

Governance

e-Bullion offers real-time statistics on their web page showing the amount of E-bullion in circulation and the quantity of gold and silver bullion in storage.

Privacy

The company makes a strong point on their website that they offer the "privacy of cash." When asked how this can be possible with an account-based system, the company spokesman explained that since the corporation and servers are located in Panama, which has very strict privacy laws, they can garuantee that they will not give up transaction data to any foreign government or individual. The company's claim seems a bit exaggerated in light of the fact that the Goldfinger Bullion Reserve Corporation has assets and directors located in the United States. One has to wonder how well that conviction would hold up under pressure from the US government.

The company does not offer true digital cash (which is anonymous) at this point. It might be more accurate to say that they offer "the privacy of a Panama bank account."

Debit Cards

E-Bullion  offers a number only  debit card for only  $35 fee in US (you need a US address to get one but it can be used anywhere around the world).   This card is a numbered debit/ATM card offered through an offshore card processor that can be used at any ATM machine  around the world. This card does not have the users name on it, which  appeals to people concerned with financial privacy.

Service

One point where e-Bullion sets itself apart from the crowd is the fact that they offer one-stop account opening and funding at their website. Normally this is considered risky business, as you don't want the digital currency to be associated with the risk that exchange agents have to take.

But in this case, the exchange agent is Goldfinger Bullion and Coin, which is a separate company from e-Bullion. So, you can open and fund your account with the same web site.

e-Bullion also offers high quality "person to person" customer service, something that some its competitors have not been known for. You can call them anytime (1-805-482-1460 in California ) you need to and get to talk to a real person, unlike most of the other ecurrencies, especially egold. You can also email them at support@e-bullion.com

Commentary

You can tell with one look at their web site that The e-Bullion Company is a class act. It appears that some of the larger players in the world gold markets have taken note of e-gold's success and are now entering the arena with their own offering.  E-bullion is the only digital currency to date that has multiple database mirrors in different countries.
