Crocodiles at Manzanila (cocodrilos en
Manzanila)
There is a small town just up the road
from Tenacatita headed towards Melaque called Manzanilla that
has a unique attraction, (NOT to be confused with Manzanillo which is an hour or so further down the road
and is a huge expensive resort city). The attraction is crocodiles which come in off the
ocean. Now in San Blas up above Puerta Vallarta there is a crocodile
reserve way back in the toolies with all sizes of the little critters from
babies to 35 feet long; all in safe fenced in cages. However in Manzanilla, they
reside in a little bijou alongside town with very poor fencing, holes in the
fences, holes under the fences, no fences at all in places, and they walk
through the beach restaurant area at the end of the bijou to get back into the
ocean from whence they came. And people let their kids swim in this ocean
restaurant area also.
This is really unsafe, but a great place to see big crocs up close. The hot sun
keeps them sedated, unless they get hungry. The pic below shows about a 15
foot croc sunning himself right next to a parked car with no fence at all and
people are taking their small kids to within 6 feet of this guy to see him. As
you can see in the pic I took while leaning around the car, he does not have his
eyes closed. He's just waiting for someone stupid enough to get too close and
it's lunch time. Do include Manzanilla in your tour when you come to Tenacatita,
but be smart enough to keep your distance; these are NOT tame crocs, even though
the townspeople pay them little attention. When storms come in off the coast and
the town floods I am told these guys are wandering about all over town and the
towns people have to lasso them and drag them back to the bijou. Hey, most of
these guys are over a thousand pounds each; I'll bet that's not a fun chore.
Hay un pequeño pueblo apenas arriba el camino de Tenacatita dirigió hacia Melaque llamó Manzanilla que tiene una atracción extraordinaria, (no ser confundido con Manzanillo que es una hora por ahí aún más hacia abajo el camino y es una ciudad costosa inmensa del recurso). La atracción es los cocodrilos que entran del océano. Ahora en San Blas arriba encima de Puerta Vallarta hay una espalda de la manera de la reserva del cocodrilo en el toolies con todos tamaño de las criaturas pequeñas de bebés a 35 pies largos; todo en seguro cercó jaulas. Sin embargo en Manzanilla, ellos residen en una joya pequeña al costado pueblo con cercar muy pobre, los hoyos en las cercas, los hoyos bajo las cercas, ningún cercas en lugares, y ellos andan por el área del restaurante de la playa a fines de la joya para volver en el océano de de ahí ellos vinieron. Y las personas permiten que sus niños naden en esta área del restaurante de océano también. Esto es realmente peligroso, pero un gran lugar para ver crocs grande arriba el fin. El sol caliente los mantiene sedaron, a menos que ellos consigan hambriento. El pic debajo de exposiciones acerca de un 15 sunning de croc de pie que él mismo repara luego a un coche estacionado con ningún cerca y personas toma sus pequeños niños a dentro de 6 pies de este tipo para verlo. Cuando usted puede ver en el pic yo tomé al inclinarse alrededor del coche, él no tiene sus ojos cerrados.
